Dynamite Gymnastics Club enjoyed a successful weekend at the DMT NDP Regional Series 1 in Glenrothes as they kicked off their 2019 with nine medals.

The Clydebank club entered 28 gymnasts for trampoline and 12 for double-mini trampoline at the event.

Kalum Wilkinson, Leo Downes and Thomas Campbell all performed excellently to secure well-deserved golds.

Freya McKay, Hannah Cliefe, Alistair Hamilton, Harry Rashid and Rowan Young all won silver while Bethany Gall brought home a bronze.

Medals aside, it was a hugely successful competition for the club with 21 of their trampoline gymnasts and four of their DMT gymnasts achieving the qualification score for the March NDP Regional Team qualifier.

The March qualifier gives gymnasts the chance to represent Scotland at the NDP Regional Team Finals taking place in Birmingham in June and then the June competition gives them the opportunity to qualify for the NDP British Final in Nottingham in July.

Looking further ahead, nine trampolinists achieved the qualification score to compete at the Scottish Championships at the Bells Sports Centre in Perth in October.

Dynamite’s next competition takes place on February 16-17 at the Bells Sport Centre and all gymnasts will be working hard between now and then to make improvements to try and secure the points required for qualification to further events.
