CLYDEBANK Gaelic football side Glasgow Gaels’ youth team recently lost out in a close Scottish Under-14 Shield Final against Edinburgh.
All the finalists received a special GAA in Scotland medal after the game and club SkillMaster medals were presented to reward people who demonstrated excellent skills in the final and in previous appearances during the first half of the season.
A club spokesman said: “Despite a few regulars being absent on the day, the team played fantastic and gave a great account of themselves with some incisive attacking play and excellent tackling skills on show, although it wasn’t quite enough to get past an Edinburgh outfit with a slightly older average age.” Elsewhere in the club, the Gaels ladies recorded an impressive victory atEdinburgh on Saturday evening to get their Scottish Championship campaign off to an excellent start. The men’s second team have their first game on June 17 and are actively looking for new people to pick up a football and give it a go.
