This weekend’s Scottish Summer Regional BMX Round 1 at the Western Titans BMX Club on Onslow Road is the second of 30 events running between March and October, showcasing Scottish Cycling’s most exciting, emerging talent.

Sunday’s event is expected to attract a field of 40-50 and will feature races for boys and girls aged from under-8 level up to under-16s. The 2015 national series is supported by ScottishPower’s investment in Scottish Cycling, the largest ever sponsor of youth cycling in Scotland.

Clubs represented this Sunday include The Western Titans, Cumbernauld Centurions and Musselburgh Monarchs.

Bob MacFarlane, Scottish Cycling Events Development Officer and coordinator of ScottishPower National Youth Racing Series, said: “The ScottishPower National Youth Racing Series allows us to help support the development of the existing talent we have as well as encouraging more young people to get involved with competitive cycling.

“With more than 160 affiliated clubs across the country and more than 600 events to choose from it has never been easier to get involved. Visit www.scottishcycling.org.uk to find out how to contact your local clubs and find out more about the range of racing and coaching opportunities.”
