Harvie is in his second season with Clydebank following his move from amateur outfit Dumbarton Accies. Both seasons have been disrupted by injury, but Harvie insists he is feeling sharp again, and after coming off the bench to score on Saturday, the frontman is hoping for a run in the side — and a run of goals along with it.

He told SportScene: “It was good to come on and get a goal. I should’ve scored in the last couple of games so it was good to get on the score-sheet.

“I’m sure it’ll be a case of getting the first one then others will follow.

“I missed out most of pre-season with a groin tear but I’m starting to feel fit again.” Clydebank will be buoyed be Saturday’s result, albeit in a match they would’ve expected to win.

They face a more difficult task on Saturday when they welcome Hurlford to Holm Park as they look to notch their first win of the season. Harvie expects a difficult game but is confident Clydebank can take all three points.

He said: “It will be a close match. The work rate of our team at the moment is phenomenal but we just need an end product.

“Hopefully if we get that we’ll get a result, it is quite important as well with our league situation but I’m quite confident we can do it if everybody performs.” Despite the Bankies poor league form Harvie is in no doubt that the team’s results will improve.

He said: “We haven’t really been hammered by anyone, if you look at the games a lot of them have been lost through individual mistakes and not being able to put the ball in the net, the games have been really close.

“We’ll definitely pick it up, it’s only eight games into the season.
