CLYDEBANK and Yoker have both been handed tricky first round ties for the West of Scotland Cup following last Wednesday night’s draw.

Bankies, fresh from their Central League Cup success over Cumbernauld last month, will head to Station Park to face Ayrshire District side Craigmark Burntonians.

After claiming last season’s Sectional League Cup and Central League Cup the Bankies will be looking to extend their good cup form into the West — a competition which eluded them last season.

Budgie McGhie’s side were handed a tough task in last season’s competition as they faced Auchinleck Talbot at Holm Park.

A spirited display saw them lose out to a last minute effort from Craig Pettigrew, rendering Jamie Campbell’s earlier equaliser meaningless.

Elsewhere, John McAulay’s Yoker will host Central District First side Bellshill Athletic.

The Whe Ho enjoyed a good run in the Scottish Cup last season before falling to Ayrshire side Whitletts Victoria in the fifth round.

The Holm Park side saw off Annbank in the first round last season before falling to Andy Whiteford’s Neilston 6-1 at the Brig O’Lea.

Hat-tricks from Darren Christie and Adam Nisanci saw the Farmer’s Boys into the last 16 at the expense of the Whe Ho on the day.
