Tommy Montgomery heaped praise on his Yoker side after they returned to league action with a one-sided 4-0 win away to Maybole at the weekend.

Out of action in League Two since September 7, the Whe Ho were impressive on their return as they brushed aside the Bole at Ladywell Stadium.

Chris Moulangou fired Yoker ahead 15 minutes in as the visitors got off to a flyer before Gary Bissland doubled the advantage moments before the break.

David Crerand made it three shortly after the restart with George Thomson adding the fourth from the spot in the final minute to round off a fine away performance.

“I’m delighted with the result and a big three points after a few weeks without a league match,” Montgomery told Post Sport. “It was a makeshift team so it’s a positive result for us.”

With this weekend’s scheduled opponents Saltcoats Victoria now playing in a Scottish Junior Cup second round replay, Yoker turn their attentions to League Two basement side Ardeer for the second away match in a run of four.

Montgomery added: “Ardeer are at the bottom end of the table and have been struggling so we’ll be hoping to build some momentum.

“This is the second of four away games so it’s important to get another three points before two really tough away matches.”
