DUNTOCHER professional golfer John Henry missed the chance to guarantee his full card for the season on the EuroPro Tour after missing the cut on the final stage of qualifying.

Henry finished six shots over par for his two rounds at Frilford Golf Club in Oxfordshire last week, missing the cut by two with a series of stray putts to leaving him frustrated.

Making the cut would have guaranteed him entry to all of the events on the tour this year.

All is not lost for the Clydebank and District Golf club member – he will still be able to play in most of the events on the tour, but will have to sit out the first two.

That means his next event will not be until June with two tournaments taking place in May.

The Grenke Championship will be Henry’s first available tournament at Cumberwell Park Golf Club in Bradford-on-Avon, starting on June 22.

Henry had breezed through the first stage of EuroPro Tour qualifying with an eight-under-par, second-placed finish at Haggs Castle the previous week.

After three years on the Alps Tour, he has decided to stay closer to home for the UK-based tour.
