DRUMCHAPEL-starlet Harry Granger has sealed a dream move to Partick Thistle as the youngster aims to become a professional footballer.

The 12-year-old moved from Clydebank side PFD United to Firhill after knocking-back a move to Celtic who also tried to sign the defender.

And after settling in well at the Jags, he insisted there was never any doubt where he wanted to move despite Celtic's interest.

The Drumchapel High pupil also praised his former club, PFD United, and insisted they have helped him make the jump to the Glasgow team.

He said: "I am really happy to have moved to Partick Thistle, even when Celtic made an offer there was only one place I wanted to go.

"They have a really good team and the coaches are really good - I am enjoying it.

"I think I have been doing well and have been captain of the team a few times which is great.

"My time at PFD United really helped me, the coaches, players and parents were all great, they all really helped me.

"I enjoyed playing football there and it really gave me a platform to do well." PFD United coach Paul Dolan said: "Harry was great when he was here, both John Monaghan, who is a coach here, and I noticed that he was a good player.

"He is a good player, technically gifted and very hard-working and we are glad we could give him a platform to be spotted on." Youth development coach at Partick Thistle Ross Stewart added: "Like all the boys, Harry is doing really well and has fitted in well.

"He is working really hard and performing well and his attitude is good which is the same throughout the squad and I am happy he, alongside everyone is doing well.

"Alongside my colleague Stuart Mathieson, we hope to help the players in the under-13 squad progress throughout the youth system here and make the step-up to the first-team one day, like a lot of the current first-team did."
