Drumchapel teen Liam Maloney stormed into the Scotmid store in Bearsden, East Dunbartonshire, brandishing a large blade.
Maloney – then aged just 14 - repeatedly demanded alcohol from a shocked shop assistant during the raid on January 15 last year.
However, the woman refused and eventually pressed a panic alarm.
Prosecutor Ian Wallace told the High Court in Glasgow: “The accused then grabbed a handful of Creme eggs from a display before quickly leaving the shop.” Maloney was back at court after pleading guilty to a charge of assault and robbery.
Judge Lord Burns jailed him for two years and three months.
