The singing sensation visited Barrhead Travel in Clyde Shopping Centre as the shop marked its anniversary.

Shoppers were left stunned when the 2009 Britain’s Got Talent winner casually strolled through the busy retail complex.

The singer was driven to Clydebank from her home in West Lothian by shop manager Tony Sillars.

Susan cut the cake, met staff — and then posed for selfies with members of the public outside the travel agents.

Tony, who has been friends with the singer for several years, told the Post: “I invited Susan to Clydebank for our shop’s birthday party — and she was totally up for it. The minute she got into the shop she made a beeline for the holiday brochure rack and grabbed a brochure for Florida. She said to me, ‘I might be giving you a wee phone soon about this.’ “Susan has been booking holidays through us since the shop opened in Clydebank. Her favourite destination is Malta and she also travels to Lourdes. That’s how I first met her and her circle of friends are now friends of ours too.

“She was with us for a couple of hours and was happy to meet members of the public and have her picture taken. She was even in a few selfies.

“Susan thought Clyde Shopping Centre was great and she said people were really friendly and made her feel welcome.” The 53-year-old singer became an instant star when she first appeared as a contestant on Britain’s Got Talent in April 2009.

Susan won the competition and went on to release her debut album, I Dreamed a Dream, which became the UK’s best-selling debut album of all time.
