* AN Old Kilpatrick pub has been allowed to use an outdoor drinking area to the front to sell drinks.

The Telstar on Dumbarton Road was yesterday (Tuesday) given the green light to vary its premises license.

Concerns had been previously been raised that the proposals would give rise to noise nuisance as live music is also expected to be introduced, and an objection was also submitted by Old Kilpatrick Community Council.

* PUNTERS at a Duntocher pub will now be able to enjoy sunny days with a drink in the beer garden.

Council bosses allowed The Glenhead Social Club, Farm Road, Duntocher, to vary the terms of its premises license.

* CLYDEBANK’s Co-op store has been allowed to extend the hours it sells alcohol.

Customers at the Sylvania Way shop had called for it to stay open longer and the Co-op submitted a formal application to change its trading times to West Dunbartonshire Council’s licensing board.

Co-op representatives told last week’s licensing board meeting that the change was needed to cope with demand.

* CLYDEBANK’S Lidl store has been given the green light to increase the size of its alcohol section.

Concerns had been raised that the move could contradict the council’s over-provision policy and West Dunbartonshire Community Health and Care Partnership (WDCHCP) attended to oppose the move.
