A 32-year-old woman was seriously sexually assaulted by two men between 8.30pm and 9.30pm on Sunday night on the canal path near Jellicoe Street.

The victim had been travelling on a bus from Glasgow with the two men and detectives have now revealed the suspects had violently attacked a man on the vehicle.

The other was said to be in his late 20s, 5ft 6 and wearing a dark jacket or shirt.

Detective Inspector Douglas Wilson, Clydebank CID, said: “We have had an excellent response from the public which has provided valuable information to help us progress this inquiry.

“However, it is vital that we speak to anyone who was travelling on the bus, who witnessed the assault on the man or the behaviour of the suspects towards the woman.” Anyone with information is asked to contact Clydebank CID on telephone number 101 or alternatively in confidence to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
