A MAN spat at a cop at a bar after refusing to leave when asked by staff.
Ross Smith, of Trafalgar Street, Clydebank, was at Quoiters Bar in Glasgow Road in the town's Hardgate on November 26 when the offence occurred.
The 24-year-old later pleaded guilty to refusing to leave when asked by staff. He repeatedly slammed a door causing damage to wall tiles.
When police arrived, he assaulted one by spitting at him. And at Greenock police office later, he tried to headbutt the same officer.
At Dumbarton Sheriff Court on January 23, Sheriff William Gallacher put Smith on a community payback order for 18 months of supervision by social workers.
He will also have to do 120 hours of unpaid work in the community within a year.
The sheriff added: "The [social work] report suggests you need to mature quite a bit."
