TALENTED Knightswood performers wowed crowds at Glasgow Central Station earlier this week.

Members of Corpus Christi Choir and Corpus Christi Elite Dance Team took to the floor at the city’s biggest railway station on Tuesday in a bid to help families living in poverty this winter.

Clydebank Post: They were joined by singer Greg Friel and Saint Nick himself – much to the delight of the crowds.

Clydebank Post: Over the course of two days, they managed to raise over £2,400 (£2,434).

Clydebank Post: The money will be used to buy supermarket vouchers for families to spend on what they need this festive season whether that’s Christmas dinner, essential household goods, or even a toy from Santa.

Clydebank Post: On Thursday volunteers were back at the station joined by the Theatre Royal Youth Academy and Maggie’s Line Dancing Group who performed under the famous Central Station clock.

Alistair Campbell, chairman of GCF, said: “We are particularly proud of our Christmas campaign, which raises funds to give supermarket vouchers to individuals and families who deserve support at this difficult time.

“The contributions we raise in the campaign will help us alleviate food poverty, whilst allowing the dignity of choice to many people who need help.”
