A talented Clydebank schoolboy came out on top recently as he was crowned winner of an art competition.

Eliezer Renato, a primary three pupil from St Joseph’s Primary, was chosen as the winner of the Provost’s 2023 Christmas card competition.

Every year the Provost selects one school from West Dunbartonshire to take part in the competition and this year it was the turn of the Faifley Road school.

Eliezer’s design, a depiction of the Three Kings, was picked by Provost Douglas McAllister and will now feature on his official Christmas card.

This will be sent out to more than 300 individuals and organisations across the local authority and beyond.

Provost McAllister said: "The never-ending talent of our primary children amazes me every year and it was a difficult decision to pick from the many fantastic designs we received from St Joseph’s.

"We want to continue to support our pupils to have a creative outlet and I’d like to thank the teachers who continue to nurture their skills.

“Congratulations to our winners and to everyone who took part.”

Jayden Nicol and Max McGuinness, who are also pupils at the school, were selected as runner-ups.

All three youngsters' names will be printed on the card in recognition of their efforts.

The three finalists met with Provost McAllister earlier this week where he congratulated them in person.

Eliezer received a framed copy of his winning design as well as a gift voucher and an engraved Christmas tree decoration.

Both Jayden and Max received a gift voucher and an engraved Christmas tree decoration.
