A SPECIAL charity footie match is set to take place this weekend in honour of a special three-year-old.

Ella MacRae was born with spina bifida and hydrocephalus and the family have had vital support from the charity Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland.

On Sunday afternoon, "Ella's 11" will take on Yoker United at The Hibby in Duntocher to raise as much as they can for the cause.

Dad Martin, 36, told the Post ahead of the match: "The charity were quite helpful so I feel it's a nice way to give back.

"We knew very little about Ella's condition when she was born and the charity sent a couple girls out to the house with a bag of information and they helped us with any questions and any queries.

"Any money raised is a bonus."

Martin, who lives with wife Sharron, 31, and older daughter Mia, nine, in Knightswood, added he was grateful to Yoker United for offering their time on Sunday.

He said: "It's really nice for them to help out."

Kick-off is at 2pm at The Hibby in Farm Road.
