YOUNGSTERS and parents are preparing to celebrate their new garden space next month.
The Old Kilpatrick Playgroup is inviting the whole community to the launch on August 10 to see the play and educational garden.
Julie Hunter, chairwoman of the charity group, said they started work on the space about a year ago with raised beds for vegetables and herbs, a potting table and mud kitchen, a bug hotel and a particular favourite, a fairy garden.
She said: “It’s to teach children food starts in the ground. We’ve also built a wee stage where they can sing songs about the garden.”
The garden will be formally opened at the Napier Hall by Provost William Hendrie at 1pm with the open day running until 3pm. Organisers said everyone in the community is invited to attend.
