Award-winning musical Hairspray is set to make an appearance at Clydebank High School this week - kicking off tonight.

Pupils have been rehearsing every day as they look to treat friends, family and school staff with the entertaining production.

The musical follows the story of teenager Tracy Turnblad who dreams of a life of success and fame.

After auditioning for a spot on “The Corny Collins Show” the dance-mad girl becomes an overnight celebrity and a trendsetter in fun and fashion.

But the question remains, could her new status as a teen sensation is enough to topple Corny’s reigning dance queen and bring racial integration to the show?

Clydebank High’s young people will bring the show to life on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - starting at 7.30pm.

Eilidh Waddell, a Physics teacher at the school, said: “People should come along because Hairspray is a funny, energetic and amazing show. The kids have put so much effort into the show and it is our first show in a few years.” so it will be an extremely enjoyable night out for all.”

Tickets - £5 for adults and £3 for concessions - are available at the office.
