Is your car starting to look a bit mucky? Well, look no further because 6th Clydebank Scouts are on hand to help.

The local organisation is holding a car wash on Saturday as it looks to raise funds for young people attending a camp in Orkney this August.

Kenny Macmillan, one of the group’s leaders, said: “The trip has been over a year in the making. This is the last fundraising drive.

“With the summer holidays coming up, it’s going to be difficult to get them in the same place at the same time.”

The event will run from 10am to 1pm at the car park next to the Scout hall on Park Road.

There will also be tea, coffee and other refreshments on hand for any thirsty drivers.

“They (the Scouts) seem to enjoy it,” Kenny added. “They have a good time. It’s just a donation we ask for.

“It’d be great for people to come along and help us as much as they can. That would be really good.”

Kenny said the trip to Orkney was a part of the group’s aim to take members to “places they have never thought about going to.”

He said: “It’s a good thing to be involved in. We’re looking forward to it.”
