Nando’s is hatching its first restaurant in Clydebank - which will officially open on Wednesday, May 30.

The restaurant has been ramping up the excitement among local chicken lovers, with an exclusive VIP visit to the new Clyde Shopping Centre outlet on offer.

Nando’s shared on Friday that a ticket for a lucky person and three friends to enjoy a free meal on either Monday, May 28 or Tuesday, May 29, has been made available.

The winner of the Facebook competition will be chosen on Friday, May 25.

The arrival of the much-loved Afro-Portuguese inspired international chain, which originates in South Africa, has been in the pipeline for a year and is based at the former Harry Corry store.

In April of last year, a planning committee approved a change of use of the site, located in between the Domino’s takeaway and McDonald’s.

And it's almost here, so get ready peri-peri fans.

The restaurant opening has created a further 34 new jobs in the area and is set to host 150 guests.

Nick Tough, regional managing director said: “We're thrilled to be opening the doors to our first restaurant in Clydebank and eighth in the Glasgow area and look forward to welcoming peri-peri fans through the door.”
