A WORKER was rushed to hospital from an incident at Netherton Community Centre yesterday.

The City Property employee was working on part of the structure, the Post understands, when the accident happened. His current condition is unknown.

A spokeswoman for Glasgow Life, said: “We can confirm that a member of staff from City Property was taken to hospital on the afternoon of Thursday, April 5 following an incident at Netherton Community Centre.

"We are currently working with relevant authorities and will provide all assistance required. Our thoughts are with the person involved and their family and friends at this time.”

A spokeswoman for City Property added: "Our thoughts are with the person involved and their family and friends at this time. As there is currently an ongoing investigation this is all we can comment at this time we will release a further statement once all investigations have completed."

Netherton Community Centre was previously allocated more than £2 million for improvement works, including demolition of the former swimming pool, rewiring, reroofing, removal of curtain walling and updates to internal decoration.
