A NEW research project is looking to speak to residents who have experienced difficulty paying for a funeral.
The research, conducted by Professor Mike Danson and Dr Rebecca Stirzaker will focus on the impact of rising funeral costs on families and the long term effect this can have on their finances and how they experience grief.
Dr Stirzaker said: “We are especially keen to talk to people who have experienced difficulty with the financial cost of arranging a funeral and to learn more about the impact this has had on grief and the experience of bereavement.
“Of course, the participation is completely voluntary and we rely on the generosity of people, who are willing to invest a little bit of their time and take part in a friendly and confidential interview about their experiences.”
