PLANS for a dramatic multi-million pound overhaul of Clydebank town centre – which includes the introduction of a 20mph speed limit – will go before public consultation this month.

Residents and businesses will be able to have a say on the £4.3million plan to transform pedestrian, cycle and traffic routes.

Connecting Clydebank aims to “revitalise the civic core of the town, forming essential links between the town hall on Dumbarton Road, the ongoing multimillion pound Queens Quay regeneration project and the existing town centre”.

A WHITECROOK mum enjoyed some of the world’s wildest water slides after shedding a massive five stone for a dream holiday to Florida.

Keli Auld tipped the scale at more than 19 stone at her heaviest, and managed to slim down to 18st 2lbs before realising she needed to make major changes in her life to be a role model for her two daughters.

When her own mum said she was going to try Weight Watchers, the 41-year-old decided it was time to take the plunge, and began her three-year journey to fitness – losing an incredible 5st 6.5lbs in the process.

A TEAM of bank workers from Clydebank trekked more than 25 miles to raise vital cash for a hospice charity.

The team of 11 Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank staff joined forces with more than 150 colleagues from throughout the UK to take on the 12-hour journey on September 15.
