POLICE are investigating a break-in at Barnardo’s in Clydebank earlier this month.
The charity’s Kilbowie Retail Park base was targeted and a safe forced open, with a quantity of cash stolen. CCTV is being checked but police are also appealing for any witnesses nearby between 5.05pm on December 3 and 8.40am on December 4.
Magdalene Davie, area manager for the charity, said: “It’s disappointing for us - it’s local people who have raised the money. If anyone has information to pass to the police, we would be grateful.”
Officers are also are appealing for witnesses to a break-in at the Glen Lusset pub in Old Kilpatrick.
Between 12.50am and 1.10am on December 4, the venue was broken into and a quantity of cash taken from one of the gambling machines.
In the village on the same day, there was an attempted break-in at a home’s garage in Mount Pleasant Drive. Two suspects were disturbed around 1.10am by a neighbour. One man was described as 5ft8ins tall, heavy build, wearing a dark hoodie or clothing, and the other was 5ft11ins tall, slim, in dark clothing.
