AS the temperature drops throughout Clydebank, fun-filled activities at the Town Hall are heating up.

From Sunday, November 26, the hotly anticipated Winterfest event will return to Clydebank and it promises to be bigger than ever.

Special guest Santa and his trusty reindeer will kick off the three-week long celebration during the free grand opening from 11am to 3.30pm.

Boys and girls on the nice list will be able to meet the man himself every weekend until Saturday, December 16, between 11am and 3pm.

But with millions of children to visit before the big day, Mr Claus will be extremely bus,y so mums and dads are encouraged to bring youngsters along early.

During the grand opening, guests can also browse the school craft fair, play games and make some of their own special Christmas crafts to create the most unique presents for friends and family.

Creative toddlers will have the chance to add a little sparkle to the festive season with an art session from 1.30-2.30pm on Tuesdays and 10-11am on Thursdays.

And Bankies can take a go at life drawing classes too – the second instalment of West Dunbartonshire Council’s A Dram and a Draw workshop will take place on Thursday, November 30, with basic materials included. Tickets cost £5.

Those looking for the homemade touch this Christmas should head along to the introduction to jewellery workshop from 1-3.30pm on Saturday, December 2, with Freak Carousel designer Addison Malloy.

Ceramics buffs can try their hand at picking up top tips in pinching, slab construction and glazing during the sessions, which take place from 1-3pm on Sunday, December 3 and Sunday, December 10.

For a classic Saturday afternoon, Bankies can head to the Town Hall on December 9 between 2pm and 4.30pm for a screening of It’s A Wonderful Life.

Younger movie fans can enjoy a sing-a-long with Elsa, Anna and the gang during a screening of the hit film Frozen between 2pm and 4pm on December 10.

Hopscotch Theatre Company will present their panto version of L. Frank Baum’s classic tale The Wizard of Oz from 2pm on Saturday, December 16.

Adults can also ring in the most wonderful time of the year with a cabaret on December 15 from 7.30pm.

The Flint and Pitch Cabaret promises songs, theatre, musicians and poetry, all topped off with a bar for those over 18.
