YOUNGSTERS from a Clydebank dance school are set to perform at the SEC for Dance Show Live next month.

The QT Crew, from April’s Street Feet, starred on Britain’s Got Talent in April and have now been selected to perform alongside X-Factor group 5 After Midnight on August 27.

QT Crew, aged between six to 10, wowed the judges when they appeared on Britain’s Got Talent after winning the Scottish under 10s Championships in 2016.

April Stuart-MacRae, owner and principle dance teacher, said: “This is a huge thing for the school.

“The kids have been asked to perform alongside really big names so it’s very exciting.”

Dance Show Live is the biggest dance performance in Scotland and celebrates dancers of all styles and abilities.

This is that latest good news for the dance group who won multiple awards at the Scottish Championships on June 25 held at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.

The dancers won top spots in the major categories with the QT Crew and the Prestige under 16s taking first place for their age group.

April, who lives in Old Kilpatrick, said: “At the Scottish Championships the queue was right down Buchanan Street with loads of kids competing.

“I’m absolutely ecstatic. The kids now qualify to go to the World Championships and the new under 14s group Pink Poison came fourth so they will get to go as well.”

The group also took home some solo awards with Darcy Gibson winning first place for the under 8s.

The dancers train in Clyde Shopping Centre and have been practicing every day.

April said: “We had the championships on the Sunday and their dance show was on the Thursday and Friday. It’s been crazy but amazing.

“I cannot praise the kids enough. Every single one of them comes to the front of the stage.

“It’s not like other dance schools where there are a few who are always in the front row.

“It’s a good feeling to know that they are loving it and want to keep going.”

April’s Street Feet will also be hosting an enrolment day on August 5 for anyone who wants to get involved.

“I want to invite beginners,” said April. “I don’t want other kids to feel intimidated by those with experience so that anyone from Clydebank feels they can give it a chance.”

The enrolment day will include a bouncy castle, stalls and free sample classes.
