POLICE are appealing for witnesses to recent vandalisms of vehicles in Clydebank including one damaged to the tune of £2,000 and another covered in paint stripper.

Officers have asked for information on the separate incidents to help catch those responsible.

Sometime between 8am on June 12 and 8am on June 13 at Clyde boat yard, a blue Mercedes had its front wind screen and driver side window smashed and dents put in the bonnet. Damage was said to be around £2,000 in the Rothesay Dock attack.

Meanwhile, a Drumry man reported to police that someone dumping paint stripper on his car.

The 45-year-old said it happened sometime between June 12 and 14 to his silver Volkswagen Passat.

And in a separate car vandalism, a resident in Durban Avenue, Dalmuir, discovered their red Renault Clio had its radio aerial and rear window wiper damaped.

In Duntocher, a woman's cream-coloured Volkswagen Beatle had the soft top slashed between June 3 and 6 near a business in Dumbarton Road.

And in another attack, a living room window was smashed at a property in Old Street, Duntocher, on June 17. Nobody was home at the time.

Police in Clydebank also reminded residents not to keep valuables in their vehicles after an attempted theft from a van.

Around 10.30pm on June 15, a silver Ford Transit van was forced open in the car park of the West Park Hotel. Nothing was taken but officers re-issued their frequent appeal for residents not to leave tools or other valuable items in vehicles.
