THE cash was rolling in at Old Kilpatrick’s Ladies Bowling Club last week as members held a Pink Day fundraiser for charity Breast Cancer Now.

The ladies – dressed head-to-toe in pink to support the charity – raised a total of £863.

Forty-five club members and their friends and family turned out to support the event, which was held at the village’s Station Road clubhouse.

And they were joined by bowling groups from Clydebank and Dumbarton to add a sense of togetherness to the occasion.

As well as playing bowls, the ladies raised money through the sale of sweets, tablet and handmade painted cards.

There was also a raffle hamper up for grabs and an afternoon tea with all the proceeds going towards the charity.

Pauline Kirkpatrick, the club’s treasurer, said: “It’s great to all come together for this because the clubs don’t always mix with each other.”

Breast Cancer Now is one of the largest breast cancer research charities in the UK and the money raised by the bowling club will go directly towards funding of new developments in their breakthrough research.

The club also holds two bingo nights for charity in winter, and has supported organisations such as Erskine Care Homes and the British Heart Foundation.
