JOB hunters are invited to an employment fair in Clydebank's new leisure centre next week.

Gil Paterson MSP has organised with session along with around 30 employers, including Police Scotland, BAE Systems, Airport Recruitment Team, Aldi, Cameron House and others.

The event, at the new Clydebank Leisure Centre which has not formally opened yet, will be held on March 22 along with the Department for Work and Pensions, Skills Development Scotland and West College Scotland.

Mr Paterson said: “Unemployment in former industrial heartlands like Clydebank has been a scourge on the community, as over time it has generated too much poverty and deprivation, which creates all sorts of problems.

“As an MSP, I am serious about getting constituents back into work – and by bringing these excellent employers together I’m hoping it will help return some jobs to people in West Dunbartonshire.

“For the sake of one’s own disposable income, lifestyle, confidence, career and skillsets, it’s so important we get job hunters into the work place. It serves to benefit not just the individual, but the wider economic power and prosperity of Scotland.

“I am appealing to constituents in the area to get along to the jobs fair at the brand new Clydebank Leisure Centre on March 22, if they are seeking employment, new opportunities or even just general advice about the world of work.”

Employers signed up to attend include: Loch Lomond Golf Club, Police Scotland, Blue Bird Care, Cameron House, Bam Construction, Aldi, Lodge on the Loch, Opos, Morgan Sindall, Cornerstone, Avon, The Winnock Hotel, Alltogether Care, Gravitas Security, Brightwork, Army, Ascensos, Wheatley Group, Clyde Marine, Golden Jubilee, BAE Systems, Powerhouse Fitness, Spark of Genius, Legal Link Scotland, Airport Recruitment Team, and Clark Contracts Ltd.

The Jobs Fair will begin at 10.30am on March 22 at the leisure centre at Queens Quay, Aurora Avenue, Clydebank.
