AN AMUSEMENT centre in Clydebank is set to have a makeover after a request to the local authority was approved.

H&H Entertainments, which operates at the Indoor Market, Clyde Shopping Centre, in Sylvania Way South, had asked West Dumbartonshire Council for permission to reconfigure its business.

The report before members of the planning committee last week asked for: “Use of units 62-65 and 70-73 as amusement centre, including associated change of use of units 62-65 from retail to amusement centre and change of use of units 66-69 back to retail at Indoor Market, Clyde Shopping Centre, 36 Sylvania Way South, Clydebank by H&H Entertainments.”

The report also stated: “Planning permission is sought by the applicant to change the use of units 62-65 from a retail use to an amusement centre.

“In return the applicant would surrender the planning permission for the amusement centre for units 66-69, reverting the planning permission extant for these units to Class 1 retail.

“As a result the footprint of the existing amusement centre would change from its current `L-shape` to a rectangular shape.

“There would still be eight consented units and the same floor space area for both the amusement centre use and the retail use.”

At the meeting, Lisa Russell, from H&H Entertainments, was granted permission to address members and discuss the proposal in detail.

Following Ms Russell’s submission, members granted the application.
