DRUMCHAPEL bingo workers are asking residents to nominate an unpaid carer who needs a little extra help.

The team at Mecca Glasgow Drumchapel are calling on residents from across Glasgow City to nominate an unpaid carer they feel deserves an extra pair of hands to help them with jobs they never manage to get around to.

While most people will be enjoying an extra hour in bed when the clocks go back, staff at the Great Western Road establishment will spend the additional time helping local unpaid carers with tasks such as gardening, decorating or even a little dusting while raising funds for Carers Trust.

Duncan Anderson, club manager at Mecca Glasgow Drumchapel, said:“At Mecca Glasgow Drumchapel we all know the feeling that there isn’t enough time in the day and unpaid carers probably feel this more often than the average person, so it’s nice to do something for them.

“That’s why We plan to make life that little bit easier for carers across the UK by using the extra hour when the clocks go back to do something charitable.”

To nominate an unpaid carer you know to receive an hour of Mecca support, simply answer the following questions - What is the relationship between you and the carer? Which town/city does the carer live in? Who does the carer provide care to? What do they do for this person/people? What task do they need help with? Complete this sentence: “This carer deserves an extra hour of time courtesy of Mecca Bingo because….”

Confirm the person you have nominated is not paid for the care they provide - and e-mail your responses to meccacareoclock@havas.com by October 29.
