LOCAL businesses have been invited to take up a free networking event to help up-and-coming companies grow.

Dunbartonshire Chamber of Commerce has teamed up with Scottish Historic Buildings Trust (SHBT) to organise the first of the “Brewing Up Business” events, which due to take place at 1pm on Thursday, October 27, in the historic surroundings of Strathleven House.

SHBT Property Manager, Elizabeth Mackay, will provide an insight into the redevelopment of this fascinating building which is now a unique business centre offering offices and services to businesses wanting to base themselves in West Dunbartonshire.

This will be followed by an informal networking session for those businesses attending to connect with each other over tea and scones.

Damon Scott, Chief Executive, Dunbartonshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with SHBT to create a series of events designed to benefit business in the area and provide an opportunity to network. Strathleven House is a stunning setting and is a great resource for the area offering such a range from “work-hubs” perfect for sole-trader start-ups, to fully serviced offices, meeting rooms and virtual office services.”

"We are working hard to keep our events free for our members by collaborating with venues such as Strathleven House and through sponsorship. We are also opening this inaugural event up to non-members as a free taster event.”

Elizabeth Mackay added: “This is fantastic opportunity for businesses to get together informally to connect with each other. It is also a great for us to showcase our wonderful building and the business support services we offer to a wider audience.
