SATURDAY is shaping up to be a day of thanks in Clydebank for all the great work of children's hospitals.

Clyde Shopping Centre is holding its first One Great Day event with a series of activities in aid of the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow and Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Sandra Carmichael, deputy manager of the shopping centre, said they wanted to show their support for the hospital, especially when Bankies are already so generous with their time and money in support of good causes, including the medical centre.

She told the Post: “We want to do our bit – and we’re quite looking forward to it.

“I feel when it comes to the children's hospital, we all, through friends or family, have been touched through the work they do. Everybody has. And who knows when we will need it?

“It’s a remarkable place that people from Clydebank can turn out and show their support for.”

Events kick off at 11am with crazy golf running until 4pm at the shopping centre.

But the main activities run between 12pm and 4pm within the centre and may spill outside if the weather permits.

Most importantly, the hospital themselves will have a stall and merchandise so you can say hello and offer your support.

There will also be a game centre set up at the TV screens with an X-box guru challenge with a donation to participate and a prize on offer for the winner.

Minions will be on hand to meet and greet customers and collect money so be nice to Kevin, Stuart and Bob.

Harry will also be on hand with a helper collecting money and promoting the kids club.

Claire’s Accessories will be running children's makeovers, again for donations to the cause. And Pure Gym will run a “Street Class” with Neil Paterson while Your Radio are providing entertainment all day, including karaoke.
