A CHILD was thrown into the air after being struck by a car in Dalmuir yesterday.
At around 3.15pm, the 5-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle at a pedestrian crossing on Duntocher Road near the Singer Road junction.
He was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children but his injuries are understood not to be life-threatening.
According to an eyewitness the child was cast into the air after the car struck him.
The youngster was with his mother during the incident.
After the accident the driver stopped.
Police have said an investigation into the circumstances is underway but no arrest has been made.
