Thieves stole a car in Duntocher in the early hours of Saturday then set it on fire at a church.
Police said the Renault car was stolen from Gentle Row at around 1am then found ablaze in the car park of St Joseph's Church, Faifley, three hours later.
A second car was stolen on the same day.
Thieves took the Kia car from Limekilns Street, Faifley, between 11.30pm and 5am.
Inspector David Quinn from Clydebank Police Office reminded residents to lock their doors at night, ensure car keys are not in sight of the front door.
He also stresses the importance of developing a nightly routine to secure property and possessions before going to bed.
Anyone with information about either incident is asked to contact police on 101.
