POLICE have appealed for information in a bid to trace a missing Clydebank woman.

Nora McLachlan, 63, was last seen by staff at her home, a sheltered housing complex in Second Avenue, at around 5pm on Wednesday, November 25.

Sergeant Andy McGarvey, of Dumbarton Police Office, said today: "Nora, who lost her husband a couple of months ago, spoke to her brother on the phone from her flat at about 1.30am on Thursday, November 26, but since then there has been no contact or sightings of her.

“We do not know what she was wearing when she left but she is quite distinctive in that she is small (5ft2), has white hair, is of a heavy build and uses a blue walking stick. She requires daily medication which she does not have with her, hence the concern for her health.

“Nora tends to keep herself to the Clydebank area but does travel to Byres Road on occasion to visit a café she is fond of there.

“We are speaking to family, as well as checking CCTV in the area and have local officers including the Dog Unit out searching for her at the moment.

“It would be helpful if people could keep an eye out for her and check their back gardens or sheds in case she sought refuge there overnight.

“I am appealing also to bus and taxi drivers to contact us if they have any information about where she is.”

Anyone with information can contact Clydebank Police Office on 101.
