Graeme George will remain in charge of Yoker Athletic for the time being as interim manager of the club.

The Whe-Ho won their Scottish Cup tie against Troon 2-0, causing an upset against the team who are sitting fourth in the division above them.

Former assistant George has himself been tempted to throw his hat in the ring after Steven Reilly stepped down last week, but only if the players get their act together.

He said: “As it stands just now it will be an interim arrangement. It’s a difficult one, I went back to the club with Steph and it feels like his team.

“Then again day’s like Saturday, if they’re capable of producing that then if there’s something we can do just to get the consistency right.

“But we have to get that level of consistency and performance from the players, not just on a Saturday but on Monday and Wednesday as well, as that’s where are problems have been.

“The group of players that are there are more than capable of being successful in the division they’re in.

“Training last week was the best it’s been in a long time. I don’t know if that was a reaction or what brought it on, me and Gary [George] did a few things different but nothing major.

“They obviously carried into Saturday, and if that’s going to be the standard then yes that’s something we’re interested in.

“But if it’s going to be the same inconsistent performances then no. “
