CLYDEBANK’S Rugby Club’s unbeaten home record came to an end on Saturday, losing 26-17 to Lenzie at Whitecrook.

The Bank had won their first five home games of the season in BT West Division 2, and came into the game in good form after picking up their first away win last weekend against Cumbernauld.

Clydebank remain in third, but lose ground on Stewartry and Cambuslang, who both recorded wins.

The home side initially took the lead after 11 minutes, but Lenzie levelled minutes later with a converted score of their own.

25 minutes in and Sewell scored for the away team, taking them into a 12-7 lead.

Clydebank landed a penalty just before the half-hour mark, and the hosts scored in the corner towards the end of the half to go in with a 17-12 lead.

Lenzie started the second half stronger, and scored via a quick tap and go penalty to restore their lead at 19-17.

And minutes before the final whistle, Lenzie got their bonus point try.

Clydebank have a bye next week, and their next fixture is home to Stewartry on Saturday, January 7.
