Clydebank Mercury 2007 continued their blistering start to the season with a resounding 8-1 win over Bishopton on Saturday.

The Clydebank youngsters currently sit one point clear at the top of the Paisley, Johnstone and District Youth Football League division four after 10 games with nine wins and one draw.

And, with pressure mounting to carry on their stunning form, the 2007 side got off to a flyer at home to Bishopton with Jakub Jedrzejcyzk breezing past the visiting defence and slotting home his first of the afternoon with less than a minute on the clock.

Despite Bishopton quickly pulling one back to draw level, Jedrzejcyzk’s opener was a sign of things to come as the youngster bagged seven of hid side’s eight goals.

Clydebank restored their lead just one minute after the equaliser with Liam McColgan, Ewan Upson and Max McKinlay all linking up well with some slick passing to release Jedrzejcyzk for his second.

Jedrzejcyzk completed his hat-trick with a stunning strike moments later as the Bankies piled on the pressure before Josh Morgan added a fourth to bring the first-half to a close.

The second-half started as the first ended with Jedrzejcyzk, along with Kayden Halliday and Matthew McIntyre, terrorising the Bishopton defence.

Jedrzejcyzk was relentless as he netted his fourth and fifth of the afternoon to put his side 6-1 up.

As the visitors began to tire, Clydebank were able to make the most of space at the back as they went forward at will with Jedrzejcyzk grabbing his seventh and Mercury’s eighth of the day to round off the emphatic rout.

Clydebank Mercury 2007 turn their attention to the Winton Muir League Cup this weekend as they play host to PJDYFL division three league leaders Tass Thistle.
