Yoker co-manager Tommy Montgomery has called on his side to show the right attitude this weekend as they look to put a frustrating month behind them with a trip to Maybole.

With a first-round Scottish Junior Cup defeat and a game postponed due to the weather, the Whe Ho haven’t kicked a ball in the league since a 4-3 win over Thorniewood United back on September 7.

This weekend’s clash at the Ladywell Stadium down in Ayrshire sees Montgomery’s side return to league action and the gaffer has revealed that both himself and fellow co-boss Peter McKenna are raring to go.

“The last few weeks have been a bit frustrating as we’ve not been able to play many games,” Montgomery told Post Sport. “We can’t wait for Maybole to put a few weeks of no action behind us.

“We know it will be tough as they’re a stuffy team.

“Peter and I caught their match against Johnstone Burgh at the weekend. They lost 2-0 but it was a close match and they weren’t bad at all so we’ll need to be on our game to make sure we don’t slip up. It’s all about displaying the right attitude.

“We need to make sure we get over the disappointment of our Scottish Junior Cup loss to Neilston too. We’re looking forward to doing that and getting back to what really matters which is climbing up the league table again.”
