Clydebank manager Kieran McAnespie hailed his side’s new signings as they eased to a 5-0 win over Broxburn Athletic on Saturday.

Aaron Millar and Kyle Munro both found the net, with goals from Cammy McClair, Jordan Shelvey and Nicky Little seeing McAnespie’s men trounce the East Region side.

McAnespie said: “I was really impressed again. Everything we’ve asked them to do over the past few weeks they’ve done really well, and what was really pleasing was just getting the simple things right.

“They’re a tough team and well organised - which is why we were keen to play them this pre-season - so for us to be able to cut them open with five goals just shows how far we’ve actually come.

“The new boys have come in and performed really well and raised the standard in quite a short space of time.”

McAnespie revealed the arrival of three new players to the squad.

He added: “Big Aaron has agreed to sign, alongside Michael Bailly and Ryan Cowie so hopefully their paperwork will be sorted this week. Kyle Munro has shown up really well too, so we’ll be looking to get that development loan over the line with Hamilton.

“Aaron had a couple of offers elsewhere, so it’s good to know players want to come here to develop and improve as players. They’ve already enjoyed being part of the squad and like what they’ve seen and how professional our set-up is, which can only be a good thing.”

McAnespie was also delighted at recent arrival Conor Lynass, who assisted two goals on his debut for the club.

He said: “When Conor first came to Petershill when I was there, I saw a lot of good things from him then. The first thing I did when I went to Glenafton was take him with me, and on his day he will undoubtedly be one of, if not the, best wingers in the league. He brings us so much quality.”
