Clydebank manager Kieran McAnespie hailed the new Holm Park pitch as his side kicked-off their pre season preparations.
The nucleus of McAnespie’s squad reported back for training on Saturday and the Bankies boss admits he was impressed with what he’s seen.
“It was excellent, and I was really pleased with their standard and application - the boys look really sharp,” he told Post Sport. “We got a good hour of running in down at John Browns Park and then on to the pitch for some ball work.

“We’ve got all of the new boys in with us, plus another few who are just training for the moment but we’ll have a look at them as well. We’ll probably need to carry a bigger squad this year, so we’ll be looking at a few young players.
“I gave the boys a pre-season programme to keep them ticking over the summer. If they’ve got any ambition to play at a higher level, or be successful at this level, then you need to be ahead of the game.
“The days where folk would come back for pre-season four stone overweight are gone, so that just brings a bit more professionalism to what we’re trying to achieve here.”
McAnespie also confirmed the club have agreed terms with former Glenafton midfielder Conor Lynass.

He added: “Conor is an exceptional talent.
“If we can get the likes of Cammy McClair, Del Hepburn, Nicky Little, Jordan Shelvey and Conor all flying, we will have a real headache when it comes to the attacking line.”
