It was a weekend to remember for Clydebank FC 2006 youngsters as they made the trip to Fleetwood for an exciting day of football at the start of the month.

The young Bankies were invited down to Highbury Stadium to take on a Fleetwood Town XI and FC Rangers.

First up was a match against the hosts with Clydebank running out 3-0 winners over the English side. It was a dominant display from the youngsters with the pick of the goals coming from Martin Crombie who picked the ball up on the right-wing before cutting inside and firing a screamer into the top corner from long-range.

The boys were then treated to some amazing hospitality from the English League One side and even got the chance to meet the first-team manager, Joey Barton.

With a glittering career that saw him turn out for Manchester City, Marseille and Rangers, Barton passed on valuable tips to the Bankies kids.

Clydebank then took on FC Rangers in their second match of the day and put on another impressive performance as they eased to a 4-2 win. Another commanding display from the boys, the pick of the goals this time came from Matthew Allen who picked his spot from all of 30-yards to leave the Rangers keeper no chance.

The boys were then given complimentary tickets to watch the Fleetwood first-team fight back twice in an exciting 2-2 draw against Southend United.
