New Yoker co-manager Peter McKenna insists he is confident that himself and Tommy Montgomery are the men to turn the Whe Ho’s season around.

The pair took over from Maurice George with the Holm Park side languishing near the foot of the table but McKenna is adamant that, despite the weekend’s 2-0 loss away to Greenock Juniors, his side will soon be moving in the right direction up the table.

He said: “The Greenock result was a tough one to take because we played well enough to win the game. We’ve brought in a few new faces in the last couple of weeks so we have seen so much improvement.

“I’m not going to come out and say we’re going to push for promotion this season but we’ll definitely be climbing the table once we get the boys going.”

Ex-Harmony Row bosses McKenna and Montgomery have brought in a familiar face to bolster the squad with their Row captain Chris Scott joining highly-rated forward Jamie Waddell at Holm Park.
