Following a recent selection process, four members of Dynamite Gymnastics Squad in Clydebank have been awarded a place in Scotland’s performance pathway tumble squad.

Emily Brown, 10, Skye McNicol, 10, Milly Taylor, 11, and Blair Stewart, 11, are among 16 gymnasts across the country to have been selected for the brand new performance programme which aims to expand the talent pool and develop Scottish gymnasts to British and world level.

Skye has also been selected to join up with the Great Britain 9-12 squad for the first time after being part of the pathway squad for the past two years while Milly and Emily were both selected for the GB pathway squad for the second and third time, respectively.

Dynamite head coach Ellena Devitt is among eight coaches who have been selected to ensure the programme is a success.

Scottish Gymnastics Performance Manager Wendy Purdie said: “This is a fantastic time for tumbling in Scotland as we select the first gymnasts and coaches onto the Performance Pathway Programme.”

Dynamite gymnasts have their first competition of 2019 this weekend as they travel to Glenrothes to take part in the NDP Regional Series 1.

The club’s very own tumble invitational is then set to take place on February 9 before two of their display teams, Firecrackers and Ignition, head down to Leeds for their first display festival of the year with their brand new routines for 2019.
