Yoker have confirmed that manager Maurice George has parted ways with the club.

Former Greenock Morton player and Rhu amateurs coach George stepped into the managerial role at the Whe Ho in June last year following the departure of Graeme George and assistant Garry George.

The Whe Ho had struggled under George in the first-half of the season and currently sit 14th in the table after picking up 15 points in the West Region League One with just four wins from 16 matches.

Club secretary Campbell Bissland acted quickly, announcing that Peter McKenna and Tommy Montgomery will take over as co-managers at Holm Park.

McKenna and Montgomery, who previously managed Harmony Row U21s, have been joined by fitness coach Sam Meikle.

The new management duo will be on the touchline this weekend as they get set to travel to Ravenscraig Stadium to take on Greenock Juniors.
