Clydebank 2008s were excited to welcome a special guest along to their end of season presentation to help recognise a great first six months for the team.

Bankies first team boss Kieran McAnespie was on hand at the Twisted Thistle in Old Kilpatrick on Saturday to give out a medal and certificate to all of the players.

The squad is made up of Ross Paterson in goals, Adam Conn, Lewis Walker, Aaron MacColl, Flynn Keenan, Scott Wilson, Connor Connolly, Ciaran Dick, Jay MacLean and Logan O’Brien and all of the players have shown great enthusiasm and commitment this year.

They are coached by Stewart Wilson, David MacLean and head coach Alan Keenan, who take training sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays ahead of Saturday matches in the Paisley and District League.

Every second week, they enjoy heading down to watch Bankies first team battle it out at Holm Park in the top flight of junior football, an experience which made the appearance of McAnespie last weekend even more special to the team.

Wilson said: “They have come on a treat this year and played really good passing football. It was great fun to have a celebration for them last weekend with parents and grandparents.

“The team was only set up in December as part of the Bankies Academy. It’s fantastic that they have teams at every age group now. The boys have all started supporting Clydebank.

“I would just like to thank the parents for their support in getting the boys to training and matches.”
