Drumchapel super lightweight Ahmed Ibrahim is looking to kick on with his boxing career after his “best performances to date” so far last month.

The 25-year-old sealed a comfortable victory against Jamie Quinn on September 15 at MTK Scotland’s event at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Glasgow.

There was a last minute change of opponent after Welshman Rhys Saunders pulled out days before the fight was due to take place.

The victory now takes Ibrahim’s record to four wins, one draw and one loss.

His next fight is on October 28 at the Lagoon Centre in Paisley, and Ibrahim hopes he gets matched with a more challenging performance.

He said: “I was happy with the win, happy with the performance, everything went well.

“It was a last minute change of opponent, I was meant to be fighting Rhys, they managed to get someone for me to fight.

“Every time I fight there’s something that I’m not happy with, but overall I think I did well. I think that was one of my best performances to date.

“I’m hoping for it [my next opponent] to be another step up.

“That’s me going into my sixth fight now, and that’s where I should be starting to get tested a bit more.

“I’ll be ready for whoever they get me, I just need to keep training.”

Tickets are available for Ahmed’s next fight starting at £40. If you are interested in purchasing tickets, contact Ahmed via his Facebook or Twitter pages.

Ibrahim also thanked his sponsors MacAdam Asphalt, Kris Sports Therapy and Salvage Car Collection for their support.
