CLYDEBANK & DISTRICT BOWLING ASSOCIATION CONGRATULATIONS to the seniors of Dalmuir Bowling Club on winning the CDBA David Syme League 2014.

After winning the 18-game league last season, the Dalmuir bowlers retained the trophy by defeating Clydebank in the final match. It was quite an achievement as the Dalmuir team were 10 points adrift earlier in the season, however, Clydebank will be disappointed as they had occupied top position throughout the summer.

Radnor Park clinched third place after a strong finish to their league campaign. The results from week 18 in the David Syme League were as follows: Dalmuir 4 Clydebank 0, Albion 4 Yoker 0, Radnor Park 4 Yarrow 0 and Singer 2 Scotstounhill 2. The Old Kilpatrick v Victoria Park fixture was not played. The final league table is as follows: 1. Dalmuir 48 points, 2. Clydebank 45 points, 3. Radnor Park 43 points, 4. Yarrow 42 points, 5. Albion 39 points, 6. Old Kilpatrick 32 points (17 games), 7. Singer 32 (18 games) points, 8. Scotstounhill 29 points, 9. Yoker 24 points, 10. Victoria Park 23 points (after 17 games).

The CDBA Presentation of Prizes will be held on Friday, September 19 at Yarrow Bowling Club and proceedings commence at 7pm sharp. The presentation will include the prizes for Short Carpet and Dominoes competitions held earlier in the year, as well as the Lawn Bowling prizes.

The District secretary has just issued the short carpet fixtures to all member clubs. The Gents League is due to start on Wednesday, October 8 and the Senior League will commence on Monday, October 13.
