DESPITE this being the Bankies last pre-season friendly, a dominating performance saw Clydebank turn on the style and go into competitive action on a high.

The entertaining clash at Somervell Park against Cambuslang Rangers saw new signing Jamie Campbell drill home an Ian Gold knock down for the only goal in the first-half.

The midfielder's clinical strike should have been added to by Gold himself on at least three occasions as the visitors put the pressure on the Central District First Division side.

Another chance came for the Bankies minutes later as Vinny Berry was felled in the area, however, Joe Andrew saw his spot-kick saved.

Lang struggled to cope with the Bankies' pace and invention and it was no surprise that the referee had to book two home players for cynical challenges on Berry and trialist Reece Pearson.

The momentum continued to build after the break and before long the visitors were comfortably ahead.

Campbell lashed home his second and Andrew added two to open up a four-goal lead.

Every time Bankies attacked they looked dangerous and Lang couldn't match the high-tempo set by Budgie McGhie's players.

The Bankies boss though would not have been too pleased at the sloppy nature in which his side conceded two late goals.

Focusing on the positives, this was a fine display of attacking football, so much so that the referee told McGhie after the final whistle that his team were a "joy to watch".
